QUESTION 1: HOW MUCH DOES A VINYL FENCE COST?
There are three main factors that will determine the cost of your vinyl fence:
- Style
- Colour
- Height
For example, if you were to select a 6’-high vinyl privacy fence, your cost would be somewhere around $42-$70 per linear foot, depending on the style and colour that you prefer.
It might be helpful to note that white is our least expensive option, while some of our wood-grain colours are priced a little higher. Also, please keep in mind, this does not include any applicable installation or shipping charges.

QUESTION 2: HOW DURABLE IS A VINYL FENCE?
When it comes to the durability of a vinyl fence, we know our customers want to make sure that their fencing will withstand West Coast winters, which often come with windstorms and a lot of rain.
There are three factors to look out for when you are determining the durability of vinyl fencing:
- Aluminum insert: Ensure that all of the fence’s bottom rails have an aluminum insert to prevent the rails from sagging over the years. Some of the cheaper vinyl fence products purchased at local big box stores have been known to not include this important feature, which means the fencing will need to be replaced much sooner.
- Lifetime warranty: If you are looking for a fence that you likely will not ever have to replace, make sure the company you buy it from has a lifetime warranty that covers things like defects in materials and workmanship (chalking, fading, cracking, discolouration etc.).
- Weather resistant: For overall durability, vinyl fences stand up well to all kinds of weather. They will even withstand the strong windstorms we sometimes get here on Vancouver Island! You will be pleased to know that snowfall does not bother them either.
QUESTION 3: WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED?
Ok, what we are about to tell you may seem too good to be true, but seriously…
The only maintenance required to keep your vinyl fence in good shape is to wash it down with a simple detergent and a hose!
This means no more painting your wooden fences every so often as the elements take a toll on the quality of the paint job.
QUESTION 4: IS IT EASY TO INSTALL? AND CAN I DO IT MYSELF?
YES! If you consider yourself “handy”, or if you can at least use a tape measure and a chop saw, there is no reason you can’t install a vinyl fence yourself.
QUICK TIP: We do not recommend gluing the caps on the posts. This way, if anything ever gets damaged, you can take apart the fence to replace a panel without ruining your post!
